Christchurch International Airport

Arrive in style

At the core of Christchurch International Airport's renovation, we received a design design that would make the space from the cabin to the arrival gate a unified experience. The request was to amaze travelers and help Christchurch become a world-class airport. First, we began developing the design based on the observation that passengers pass through multiple 'points' as they move around the airport. Each of these points offers a deeply memorable experience through all five senses, offering an opportunity to introduce the South Island.

So, from the moment travelers land on the boarding bridge from the plane, we devised a design that dazzles their eyes with large photo panels. As you pass through the photos, you can sense sounds and scents reminiscent of the area in the photo.

During the sensory journey, fountain facilities allow visitors to taste pure underground water from dug-out wells, as well as points where visitors can touch natural materials. While waiting for customs inspection, they created Australia's largest plasma wall that delights and captivates travelers by capturing the breathtaking views of the South Island.

I truly poured myself into this project. I used all my imagination and creativity, putting myself in the traveler's shoes, and devised a design that would allow them to leave the airport with high hope.
