A treasure trove of ideas

The major earthquake on February 22, 2011, caused devastating damage to the city center of Christchurch. To develop an effective recovery plan that is more likely to be approved by the Australian government, the City Council decided to widely encourage citizen participation in the planning process.

Therefore, we devised a concept to gather ideas from everyone. First, we came up with the striking name "Share an Idea" and gave it a bright and colorful brand identity to bring it to life. Based on this concept, we launched a website and created a bulletin board where people could post ideas. The campaign received a huge response, gathering over 106,000 ideas in just six weeks.
