May 2013. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Christchurch Art Gallery, an art flood swept across the city. The outdoor exhibition titled "Populate!" showcased large murals, nighttime projections, sculptures, and more.
Issue 172 of the newsletter became the centerpiece of this exhibition, which gathers new artworks across a wide range of genres. Moreover, thanks to the power of this newsletter, the gallery succeeded in stylistically promoting and celebrating its birthday. The challenge this time was to compile such a diverse range of artists and their works into a single book, and to make what would otherwise be a mere program into a striking publication. To address this, we placed sidebars with basic information in each article, creating a mechanism that links to the table of contents at the beginning. Gold was added throughout the newsletter through wrapping, covers, and internal text, attracting readers and giving the commemorative issue a glamorous touch.
