Prime Minister's Office of Japan

Side by Side: Africa Inspires New Opportunities In Japan

As part of general marketing campaigns that are not specialized for tourism or investment, the Japanese Cabinet Office continues efforts to raise global awareness of Japan and its global support activities.

In particular, we focus on introducing cases where individuals serve as bridges between countries around the world and Japan, building friendships. STRATEGY SET was commissioned to collaborate with CNN Create to produce a short documentary intertwining two cases from Africa. The first case is the story of Hirofumi Kurino of United Arrows, who creates sustainable fabrics with local people in a studio in Burkina Faso and incorporates them into the designs. The other case is the story of Mami Rudasingwa, a Japanese woman living in Rwanda, who is passionate about delivering prosthetics to those in need.

Although not used in the main film, you can see the beautiful natural scenery of the safari filmed as a second roll here.
